More on Spirit Art

In a session, Judy works as both an artist and a medium. As you relax and sit comfortably, she will tap into a spirit waiting to speak with you that day, lay the pencil on the paper and as she moves it back and forth, an image slowly appears of a person connected to you. Gradually appearing on the paper in much the same way as old Polaroid photographs used to develop, she will also pass along information or impressions that your loved one's share with her. It is a fascinating process and one that she never tires of sharing! You will take home the sketch of your session as well as a cd recording.*

Spirit is normally very sure to show the specific details of faces that will make them identifiable to you…window’s peak, long nose, wide mouth, bushy eyebrows… Spirit seems to be able to depict themselves as you remember them or as they looked in a photo you have.
Sometimes, it’s a bit harder to discern their identity, and if this happens one of the following usually occurs: Spirit often comes in again (after all, we don’t always ‘take a good picture’ the first time!), the message they bring through coupled with the image brings it all together and they can be identified, or you get home and compare them to pictures and see the striking resemblance.
Occasionally, I get an email or call from someone who could not place a Spirit that came through in a session, but when someone else saw it they immediately identified who it was. This often happens because once in a while, a Spirit will come through who has a message for someone connected to you for the benefit of you both.
We seem to retain our personalities after death, so if one of your beloved people was a little pushy, they tend to come in first. This can be disappointing if we were hoping for someone else, but fortunately in a session we have the opportunity for a number of Spirits to come through, so they will have another opportunity to appear.
Personalities certainly shine through in a spirit art session… people who were “talkers” in life are still talkers, those who were very shy and quiet will come in quietly and often not say much. Interestingly, if they didn’t like having their picture taken in life, they often aren’t too eager to be drawn either! Those with strong opinions still have them. It’s fascinating to watch not only their image but also their personality shine through in these sessions!
Sometimes Spirits arrive that are not sure they are welcome due to actions, behaviors, or aspects of their prior lives. Because of the specific way these spirits come through, you will have the opportunity to decide not to continue with that particular drawing and to move on to the next. However, we do not cease to learn and grow after death, so these can often be opportunities for great healing.
Pets more than occasionally arrive as well. Even though I’ve been a wildlife artist for many years and so I always expect to have an easier time of it, animals are often a bit challenging in how they present the details of their appearance. Though they CAN and often do come in with great clarity, often they seem to just be so happy to be there that I think they forget to give me the details! Personalities come through loud and clear however, so identifying them is usually not a problem.
Each session is different, so people coming back for repeat appointments often get new people or new messages from those that have shown up in earlier appointments. Interestingly, when families come for back-to-back appointments or I do a party for a number of family members, the loved ones that come in often show us completely different aspects of themselves depending on who they are talking to...ie a Spirit showing up for a daughter will come is as a "Mom" (responsible, full of advise) and when it the sister's turn, this very same spirit may come back showing the sibling-side of their personalities--playful, competitive, 'best-friend' energy or however your relationship was. Like a multi-faceted mirror, we all appear slightly different to each other depending on our perspective, and that does not change after we transition! There can be no guarantee about who will show up and to what degree they will appear in your portrait, as 'Spirit brings what Spirit brings' and it can be an interesting surprise. Every portrait is different and completely unique to you!
Parties are a unique way to share a very fun, fascinating, and enjoyable evening with your friends or family. A party can be arranged in your home in the Western New York area, or at WillowLight in East Aurora. $60/portrait, minimum 6 people (including host, who is free). A party of 15 minutes sessions for $30 each are also available for larger groups of over 10 people, and these can be done in a group setting if preferred. Judy also offers parties of private readings (no drawings) for 15 or 30 minutes and same pricing. Please call or text to schedule a date.
